At ResinGuild, we are committed to providing a secure and reliable platform for creators to sell their 3D models. While other platforms offer crowdfunding-style campaigns similar to Kickstarter, we currently do not support this feature due to restrictions from our payment processor, Stripe.
1. Why Can’t We Offer a Kickstarter-Style System?
Stripe has strict regulations regarding crowdfunding and pre-order systems.
Payments for pre-funded campaigns are considered high-risk transactions, and Stripe does not allow these unless they meet specific compliance criteria.
Our focus is on ensuring fast, secure payments with minimal risk for both creators and buyers.
2. What Alternative Solutions Are Available?
Even though a full Kickstarter-style system is not possible right now, creators on ResinGuild can still:
Offer pre-launch discounts for upcoming models.
Create exclusive access groups where supporters can get early access to new content.
Use external crowdfunding platforms and direct backers to purchase the final product on ResinGuild once it's available.
3. Will This Feature Be Available in the Future?
Yes. Once we achieve higher transaction volume, Stripe will allow us to integrate a crowdfunding-style system. This means that in the future, creators will be able to run pre-funded campaigns directly on ResinGuild.
For now, our goal is to provide a stable and sustainable platform where creators can sell and distribute their models without delays or risks associated with crowdfunding.
